Project Oversight
Renovations can easily go sideways when no one is minding the project holistically — the budget, the schedule, the subcontractors, hundreds of small decisions that add up to a result you either love or tolerate. I make sure that doesn't happen.
A project manager assigned by your design-build firm, general contractor, architect or interior designer inherently represent that entity. You are beholden to their schedules, their relationships, their pricing.
An owner’s representative works for the homeowner, on behalf of the homeowner and advocates for the homeowner for the scope and vision you’ve agreed to.
What you get:
One point of contact. I'm your day-to-day contact with your contractor and design team, so you're not piecing together updates from texts, emails and site visits.
A plan you can see. Scope, schedule, budget and open decisions in one place, kept current.
A weekly update. One page, every week: what's on track, what isn't and why, the decisions I need from you with due dates, and any budget changes.
Every decision in writing. Selections, approvals and change orders are logged, so nothing gets lost or relitigated later.
Change orders checked before you sign. I review each one against the agreed scope and raise questions before money moves.
Problems raised early, with options. When something slips, you hear about it from me first, along with what we can do about it.
Plain language. I translate the technical detail so you can decide with confidence.
I can join your project at any juncture: at the outset while you’re deciding on overall approach, once you’ve hired your general contractor; or mid-project when you need another pair of hands to juggle all the details or get things back on track.
What working together looks like:
A conversation. No pitch and no obligation. I want to hear where you are in your journey and serve as a sounding board.
A look at where things stand. Plans, bids, contract and schedule, whatever exists so far.
An agreed level of support. We decide together how involved I'll be, and can adjust as the project moves along.
Setup and weekly updates. I set up the plan, budget tracking and decision log, and your weekly updates begin. For those providers with their own tracking system, I can adapt to their process so you’re not deciphering more summaries.
My goal is simple: you stay informed without being overwhelmed, and you love the result.
